This month's rosé
Ponte Pietra, Pinot Grigio Rosato
Verona's "Ponte Pietra" (Stone Bridge) dates back to Roman times. The vine, however, has been planted on the hills outside of Verona for much longer than this bridge has spanned the Adige river. Pinot Grigio grapes are red in colour when ripe. The skins are left in contact with the juice for about 18 hours in order to give this wine its vibrant coral pink colour. The fresh clean and delicately scented nose with hints of cherries gives way to a soft and drinkable fruit on the palate.
